Trust accredited to deliver apprenticeship training

Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (GMMH) is one of only four Trusts in the North West registered with the Education and Skills Funding Agency to deliver apprenticeship training to staff.

GMMH is now accredited with Pearson, an official awarding body for nationally-recognised qualifications, as the Trust provides vocational training for staff, including core skills in Maths, English and ICT.

As part of their apprenticeship reforms, the Government supports employers who wish to deliver their own apprenticeship training to develop the future workforce and promote professional standards in the NHS.

Cathy Berry, Vocational Team Business and Quality Manager at GMMH, said: “We are delighted to have been successful in our application to become an Employer Provider with the Education and Skills Funding Agency.

"GMMH applied to the register on 25 November 2016 and were notified of their successful application in early March 2017.

“This is a huge achievement for the Trust as there are many Training Providers in the UK who applied to the register  and were unsuccessful; we are very proud to be one of the four North West Trusts who were successful.

"We are looking forward to continuing our high-quality apprenticeship training with our staff to support them in developing the skills, knowledge and behaviours they need to progress in their careers and fulfil their potential in GMMH whilst providing excellent care for our service users.”

You can see GMMH listed on the Employer Provider Register document here (see line 1185).
