GMMH team member, Sam Jones, wins Big Life Staff Award!

For the first time in two years, Big Life staff came together in person to celebrate the 2021 Staff Awards! Staff from across the group descended on the Etihad Stadium on Friday, October 1, to toast their colleagues' success.

The Big Life Group fight inequality by working with people and places to create opportunities and inspire change. Big Life works with the Trust’s multi-agency Salford Dual Diagnosis Homeless Team to provide the assertive outreach in the community.

Sam Jones, who works with the team, won the Courageous Award, which recognises staff who stand up for the people The Big Life group works with or are proud to be different where difference is needed.

The 11 Big Life Staff Award winners were picked from more than 250 nominations, with awards given out for each of our values, the group's wellbeing champion, three team awards and our outstanding employee.

Lydia Duncan, Team Manager for Salford Dual Diagnosis Homeless Team, says:

“Sam works really well with all disciplines in the team and everyone has much respect and praise for her work. She shows courage by pushing herself out of her comfort zone and learning new areas of working, such as in mental health and housing, and is now a recognised dual diagnosis worker.”
