How do I search for vacancies and apply for a job at GMMH?

You can view all of our vacancies on the GMMH website.

Within the vacancy navigation, you can select the staff group you are interested, or search via a keyword or job reference. You may have noted the job reference if you have already seen a job advertised on NHS Jobs or another advertisement.

Many of our teams have their own pages, which can be found in the 'careers' section of our website!

What happens after clicking 'apply now'?

After clicking the 'apply now' button on the vacancy of your choice, you will be redirected to TRAC. TRAC is a recruitment system which many NHS Trusts utilise to manage applications. You will need to create an account in order to proceed with your application. If you are unable to apply through the website or via a paper application, please contact recruitment@gmmh.nhs.uk and we can explore options to support you.

Applicants are encouraged to apply for posts at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust who have direct experience of mental health, learning disability or drug and alcohol services, either as a service user or a carer. The Trust is committed to safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults. We require all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

We are aspiring to ensure our workforce is representative of the diverse communities that we serve, and we are strongly committed to removing barriers to employment for candidates from under-represented groups, for example BAME, Disabled and LGBT+ communities. If you would like to have an informal chat about the recruitment process for this role or would value some additional support, we would love to hear from you!

What is the guaranteed interview scheme?

As a disability confident employer, we offer a guaranteed interview to anyone that meets all of the essential criteria on a person specification if they class themselves as disabled.

The Trust is also part of the Armed Force Covenant and as such will offer any ex-armed forces staff a guaranteed interview, should they meet all the essential criteria outlined on the person specification.

Can I request adjustments at my interview?

Yes! If you have a disability, you can ask that adjustments are made to support you. Please advise the team as soon as you are made aware of your interview, so relevant measures can be put in place.

How can I help with my recruitment checks?

We need a range of information to process you through the recruitment process. You can help the process by providing accurate information and completing paperwork in a timely matter. Speak to referees and having your reference information available may also assist us in getting you ready for work sooner.

I have completed my Occupational Health Form but this has not been updated on my TRAC account?

The Occupational Health system is not directly linked to TRAC. The recruitment team manually update this on TRAC, so don't worry if it isn't updated straight away.

How long will it take for my DBS to be processed?

We don't have a set timeframe, but you can check in TRAC by clicking 'check DBS application status'.

Will the Trust sponsor me?

Please refer to the Government Guidance for the latest updates about sponsorship.
