Mental Health Link Workers

Our seven mental health link workers work in Wigan and Leigh alongside GPs, Community Link workers and Healthy Routes workers. The aim of the mental health link workers is to provide mental health advice, guidance and support on how to access services timely that best meet your needs locally in the area where you live.

Our mental health link workers have knowledge of mental health services and the resources available locally to assist your mental health needs.

They will work with you to develop resilience and look at ways to help you better manage your own health and wellbeing to help keep you well.

Who is our service for?

Our service is for adults age 18 and over who are registered with a Wigan GP practice.

Who do we work in partnership with?

We work collaboratively with community link workers, Healthy Routes and other health social care professionals and services as well as community voluntary organisations and groups.

What will happen at your first appointment?

Following referral to our service, our mental health link workers will aim to contact you within three working days to arrange an appointment at a venue convenient for you.

At the appointment, we will talk to you about the reason for your referral. We'll discuss different options for supporting you and together, agree next steps.
