Liaison and Diversion Facilitators
Our Liaison and Diversion Facilitators (L&D) are key members of the multidisciplinary team as part of our service. We work to identify vulnerabilities service users may show in either police custody or court settings. After identifying vulnerabilities we provide support with practical concerns which could be affecting their mental health and well-being — and help the service user to access support at the right time.
As a L&D Facilitator we have the opportunity to develop, enhance and improve our knowledge of the interface between criminal justice and health and social care agencies promoting the development of our skillsets and competencies.
In this position we may be expected to:
• Provide high quality information to key decision makers in youth and criminal justice agencies. This could include the police, courts, probation and Youth Offending Teams (YOTS)
• Secure referrals into mainstream health and social care services
• Provide brief evidence-based intervention to promote health and well-being
• Actively seek to embed service user consultation and involvement in every aspect of service provision.
In this role, you work closely with Health Care Professionals and Senior Liaison Practitioners to help deliver high quality care in different settings. This gives you the opportunity to learn more about different professions and develop your own clinical skills. The L&D team have regular staff meetings to ensure you have full access to support if you require it.
We also value ongoing learning and developing your skills, as such training opportunities are available to help broaden your depth of knowledge required for the role.
