Bury FC visit the Gardener Unit

On Wednesday 5 February, the Gardener Unit was paid a visit by coaching staff from Bury FC to run a footballing session with service users from our inpatient service.
The visit coincided with Children's Mental Health Week (3 - 9 February), with the team at Bury FC eager to provide sessions to young people that don't often have the opportunity to take part in sport, and our CAMHS service always on the lookout for new and innovative ways to engage service users.
The afternoon session was a real success, as service users were joined by staff to partake in a range of training drills and games. Not only was this a fantastic opportunity to sharpen our service users' skills on the football field, but also provided some added respite to their day and promoted the benefits of partaking in physical activity in a fun, team environment.
A huge thank you goes out to Matt Barton and Bury FC for sharing your time and expertise with the service.
