Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (GMMH) has been exploring options for the future of the Manchester Wellbeing Fund and we are sorry to confirm that it will not be renewed.

Since 01 April 2022, over 700 GM people have been referred to receive Post-COVID mental health support.

Last month, our Mental Health Nursing Research Unit (MHNRU) hosted an online showcase. One of the topics under discussion was the barriers mental health nurses face getting involved in research.

Bryony Rowe, 30, will be competing in the Isle of White 52km Ultramarathon, the CrossFit Turf Games and the Outlaw full-distance triathlon, amongst other challenges, to encourage body positivity amongst women in sport, and to raise money for Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust’s Charitable Funds.

Compassion focused therapy (CFT) is a relatively new trans diagnostic therapy. It is aimed at people who experience high levels of shame and self-criticism – attributes which are thought to underlie a wide range of mental health conditions. 

GMMH are proud to be delivering gameChange Virtual Reality therapy through five mental health teams across the Trust.

Ambulance workers from the GMB and Unite Unions affecting North West Ambulance Service will be taking industrial action on Monday 6 February, with further strikes planned by staff from Unison union on Friday 10 February.

A talking therapy for adults at risk of self-harm is to be trialled by researchers funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR).
