Reducing our carbon footprint with the launch of Green Fleet vehicles

As part of GMMH's Green Plan, our Transport Department have undertaken a project to start transitioning our existing petrol and diesel vehicles to electric models, to help align with the NHS Target of achieving Net Zero by 2040, whilst also aligning with targets set in GMMH's Green Plan.

This is a positive step in helping to reduce our carbon footprint across our estate and is a significant step in the right direction for the Trust, demonstrating commitment to our Green Plan and NHS England Sustainability targets.

In the last few weeks, we have received the first 23 vehicles with the remaining 6 vehicles being delivered over the next few months. All of our electric vehicles will display the tagline 'NHS Leading Livery', to help showcase GMMH's commitment to delivering a Net Zero NHS.

The new Green 'Electric' Fleet vehicles will be utilised by our Estates and Transport teams.

There is further work to be undertaken by the Transport Department to help achieve our target, which is for 100% of Trust vehicles to be electric by 2030.
