For November’s Journal Club, Professor Ben Hannigan presented “Care Coordination as Imagined, Care Coordination as Done: Findings from a Cross-national Mental Health Systems Study”. This paper looks at the gap between the policy-informed ideal provision and the day-to-day realities of care coordination. It highlights the finite resources and growing demand on care coordinators, including the weight of ‘box-ticking exercises’ and how we can return closer to the policymakers’ vision.
