The court is a formal working environment, but also supportive as other professionals value the importance of the Liaison and Diversion team and take your professional opinions into consideration when deciding sentencing. Within the court setting, you are exposed to a range of different professionals which could include Solicitors, Probation Workers, Legal Advisors, Magistrates, Judges and more. The environment allows you to improve your knowledge and experience whilst working towards the best outcome to support the service user. In the courts, you have access to your own office with facilities to make hot drinks.

The locations are usually based within town centres which have food and shops within local distance, making it an excellent location to work. If you need support from the wider team, there are senior members of staff on duty every day who can be accessed remotely. Alternatively, the wider team can also be contacted either remotely or in-person to assist with any requests. Safety is important to everyone when you work in the court’s environment, and it is a very safe environment to work in. There are interventions such as on-site security and personal alarms to guarantee you feel secure. When service users are in holding cells, the meeting room usually has a glass screen divider, and we ensure safety guidance is followed a-like visiting service users in other settings.
