Wigan CAMHS are a well-established and experienced team of professionals working with and for the children and young people of the Wigan and Leigh areas. We are a dedicated and multidisciplinary team comprising of:

• Psychiatrists
• Psychologists
• Family Therapists
• Cognitive Behavioural Therapists
• Psychotherapists
• Dialectical Behavioural Therapists
• Social Workers
• Mental Health Nurses
• Paediatric Nurses
• Occupational Therapists

We adopt a multidisciplinary approach to ensure that our services users receive the right help at the right time. The team are THRIVE aligned and as such offer support and advice in terms of assessment of mental and emotional health needs and presentations. We also offer various therapies including family therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), psychotherapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) and much more. Furthermore, we also offer a consultation model to our external partners and risk consultation for those service users who find difficulty in engaging.

We are striving to improve our existing offer and have developed a recent improvement plan including specialist workers around governance and quality, staff wellbeing and training and participation and engagement of our services users. We have close links with our CAMHS family including Mental Health School Teams, Achieving Together Outstanding Memories (ATOM), Intensive Support Teams and our voluntary sector partners Wigan Family Welfare. Our offer also includes a Tics and Tourette's Pathway and can provide autism diagnostic observation schedule assessments for those already open to our services.

Together we are able to work towards meeting high standards and demand for our services. We have received investment from our Trust recently to refurbish our building and are very happy with the results, this has created improved clinical and staff space. We are keen to develop other models of work that will work to enhance our model and our offer, ensuring that we are offering the best possible services for the diversity of children and young people who are referred to our services. We are looking constantly at ways of improving our offer.

Our premises have shower facilities, a kitchen and dining room for staff use. We also have a staff health and wellbeing champion and robust clinical supervision for all staff. In a great location, we have onsite parking facilities, are close to local amenities and are within close proximity to a train station.
